Cynthia Wides, MA
What I Do
Cynthia Wides (MA) is a research assistant at the Center for the Health Professions and the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences. She has been at UCSF since 2009. Cynthia holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Wesleyan University. She has co-authored papers on innovations in health care delivery, health workforce issues, and expansions of the scope of practice in California. Her current work focuses on the dental health workforce labor market, the expansion of access to dental care, and an analysis of oral health policy. She is experienced in the collection, management, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary data and is proficient in Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software, Stata, and Atlas TI. Her training in economics brings a valuable intellectual perspective and rigorous analytical approach to data collection and analysis.
